At Central Auto Skills, we love helping people get confident with their cars. Below are the most common questions about our courses.
1. What is Central Auto Skills?
We’re all about helping you get confident with your car! Our hands-on courses teach basic car care and maintenance, like changing a tyre, checking your oil, and other essential skills. We’re completely independent, not part of the AA or any government organisation. Your teacher is a qualified mechanic of 20 years, and a driving instructor of 10 years, so you’re in the right hands with Central Auto Skills!
2. Who can join a course?
Anyone aged 15+ who wants to learn.
No prior experience required.
Perfect for beginners or those looking to brush up on their skills.
3. How long is a course?
Most sessions run for about 4 hours including lunch, but this can vary depending on how clever our customers are!
4. Do I need my own car?
Yes, you need to bring your own car which should have all of the necessary tools in it. Don’t worry, if you don’t have the tools, we have some you can use.
5. What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes.
Gloves and safety gear are provided as needed.
6. Can children attend?
Minimum age is 15, for those who are going for their learner licence.
Please make sure you don’t bring your little ones with you when you come to our workshop.
7. How do I book a course?
Book via website, email, or phone.
Full payment is required to secure your spot.
8. Can I cancel or reschedule?
Cancel 7 days before the course for a full refund.
Later cancellations are non refundable, unless we can refill your spot.
Need to reschedule? Just get in touch—we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
9. Is it safe?
Absolutely! Safety is our top priority.
Follow instructions, and you’ll be in good hands.

10. Will I get a certificate?
No official certificate—but you will gain real, practical skills you can use immediately and a certificate made by us to hang up for bragging rights.
11. Can I book a private group or corporate session?
Yes! Perfect for friends, family, or work teams.

12. What if I accidentally damage something?
Use tools and vehicles safely.
Any damage caused by reckless or improper use may incur repair or replacement costs.
13. Do you offer online courses?
Not yet. Courses are hands-on only—there’s no substitute for real practice!
